Verified badge on Twitter now costs $20

The new “Chief twit” of Twitter, i.e., Elon Musk, is on a mission to change Twitter and its many features. He recently acquired the company for nearly $44 billion. With his main mission to make Twitter bots free, he also has many other plans in his mind for the future.

With Elon Musk’s entry on Twitter, we have already seen two major updates for Twitter users. Twitter changed its homepage layout on Sunday. Previously, it was compulsory for users to either login or create an account to access the Explore page. Now anyone can access Twitter’s Explore page without logging in or creating an account.

Elon Musk, in his recent tweet, stated that “the whole verification process is being revamped right now”.

Musk is planning to fire more Twitter employees soon after firing top executives recently. Now, it’s hitting badly for Twitter users too. Twitter is now forcing users to pay $20 per month or lose their blue badge.

According to The Verge, Musk has instructed employees to raise the price of Twitter Blue subscriptions to four times their initial cost. The new cost will be $19.99. Also, this $19.99 subscription to Twitter Blue will be the one and only way for a verified user to retain their blue tick.

According to various other reports, the currently verified users will have 3 months’ time to subscribe to Twitter Blue. If not, they will lose their blue ticks.

According to rumors, the updated Twitter verification version will be available by November 7. According to the story, employees have the risk of losing the job if they do not complete their work on time. Twitter employees were already working hard day and night after Musk took control. Now this decision will put additional pressure on the employees.

This step of compulsorily charging money for the blue tick is not well accepted by many users around the globe since it was free of cost earlier. Let’s wait and see what the “Chief Twit” has planned for the Twitter in coming days.
